Donuts for Breakfast

It’s true. I’m not a fan of packaged foods, because they are full of preservatives and many other substances that are not good for us, but everyone tested them, so often I try to copy some sweets at home with only genuine ingredients.

Today’s recipe is not the result of my experiment but only the transcription of one famous recipe that you can find on some foodblog in the network and I wanted to try it for you (well not really for you, since they have been my breakfast for a few days!). This recipe is  the Mr.Day Donuts for breakfast!

ingredients for a donut cake or 16 little donuts:

  • 200 grams of softened butter
  • 150 grams of powdered sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 125 grams of rice flour
  • 125 g of corn starch
  • 6 g of baking powder
  • 1 pinch of salt

Mount with the whip the butter with the sugar until it’s creamy white. Then add the eggs, one at a time, the vanilla extract and continue to beat decreasing speed.

Sift together the flour with the baking powder and salt, add to the mixture a little at a time, stirring gently with a spatula. Pour into silicone molds and bake at 356°F/180°C for 15 minutes, if you make a large donut (⌀ 24cm) cooking it for 30 minutes. Let cool and take the donuts out from the molds paying attention, because they are quite soft and delicate. When it’s cool sprinkle with powdered sugar.
