Christmas is arrived…and like every year it brings with it some thoughts and reflections. Christmas for me is synonymous of family, warmth! It is the most in importante feast in my house, I remember when I was a child and I was preparing the tree and the crib with my Dad: everyone has is rule, he settled the lights, then I touched the ball, and then the angels…my mom came to “interrupting” with her tart for a snack!

I think the memory is the best gifts that we can do every Christmas thinking about the moments that warm the heart, without falling in  and bad thoughts.

Since I live with my love, we decided to add to our tree objects, balls, bells etc. … that we collect on our travels, with the decorations that we have inherited from the family tree or simply that we bought on special occasions: this year we add the ball for the arrival of my grandson Giovanni! It’s great to pull out from the boxes every year our decorations and assign each one a memory!

Continuing to talk about balls I present to you the recipe for today: some simple chocolates with the flavors of Christmas: chocolate and orange truffles flavored with cinnamon!

chocolate orange truffles

ingredients for 24 truffles:

  • 220 g dark chocolate 70%
  • 80g  fresh cream
  • 100 gr sour orange marmalade
  • 1 tablespoon of cinnamon
  • 2 teaspoons of brown sugar
  • cocoa powder for dusting

* For an “Unforgettable” result is very important to use dark chocolate and cocoa of good quality!

Chop the chocolate with a knife, put it in a pan with the cream and cinnamon and bring to a boil, turn off the heat and add the chocolate and jam, stir constantly with a spatula until the mixture is cool. Once cool (the sugar hasn’t dissolved!) Add the brown sugar, which will give a crisp note to the truffles. Store in the refrigerator covered for at least 4 hours.

Make it into balls with the palms of your hands and place them again in the fridge for an hour. Cover the balls with the cocoa powder, and after use a sievewith the truffles inside to bring down the excess of cocoa, placed in molds and then let them dissolve in your mouth! :)
